We are making progress as more local residents of Sun City research and join our cause. We had a 1.5 hour Zoom conference with a local reporter this morning that went very well. At the very least it was a space where our voices could be heard. I don't want to identify the station yet but it is possible to go live on TV in the next day or so. Once I know for sure, I will do an update. We are also fortunate to have our Georgetown Mayor, Josh Schroeder, schedule an appointment with us so that he can hear our concerns. From what I have heard, the city Georgetown may be looking at netting deer, and if that is true, now is the time for everyone to speak up and speak out so we can have an effect on any new ordinances that are passed. During the meeting, residents spoke out about the screaming they hear when the deer are netted and their hooves banging and scratching on the trailers to get out. They said it was a sound they will never forget, they have been traumatized. What we really need is to learn how to live with nature. Natural greenbelts and wildlife are why folks come to Georgetown. If you want a concrete jungle, it isn't here. It is a charming town, with old world attributes that rich culturally diverse folks live. New developments lack that charm or any green spaces that are beneficial to our health and well being. Raising children with wildlife gives them the experiences to respect and enjoy the world around them.
Thank you for your support, please share the link to all who many be interested in this cause. We have just begun, we hope this change has value to your neighborhoods so this doesn't happen to your community.
