Today I received distressing news that a deer had become entangled in the capture net. Sadly, the deer died and the vultures were already doing their job. Other reports in Sun City have been that in the last few years bucks have become entangled in the nets when they are lowered closer to the ground on slaughter night. These bucks were not even worthy enough to go to the slaughter house, they were killed right there. 

For these reasons and many more, we should not have deer netting in our backyards. It is barbaric and heartbreaking to watch and hear. We should not be subjected to this without our consent. 

Does that were bred early in the Fall are going to potentially be caught in the next few days and that is absolutely disgusting. That is like allowing late-term abortions and we all know that is rarely ever done. Why is that okay for our wildlife? If this is such a "humane" way of capturing "overpopulated" (I would challenge that in Sun City) deer, why are they being killed on site when caught in the nets or left to die with vultures eating them? Why are these nets left up for 3+ months in full view to torture the residents and deer alike? Some of these nets are within 60 feet of residential homes.
