Thank you for your continued support. In 48 hours we have nearly 700 signatures from wonderful folks who want to care for our deer in Sun City, Georgetown, TX. Georgetown is a charming city with abundant wildlife, a fantastic downtown and lots of outdoor things to do. Deer increase our property values. My husband and I bought our home simply because when we went to initially view it with a realtor, we opened the front door and in the green belt behind the property were 2-3 deer. We were sold. Who doesn't stop to take pictures and thrill at seeing the new born fawns each year? Then summer comes and you see beautiful images of does with their fawn nursing and grazing on the grass and wildflowers. Fall brings out the big guys and they are truly magnificent animals to watch. 

Our deer are slaughtered without any tagging or identification. People ride around on their golf carts and count what they see. That would be wonderful if deer were stationary but they move and quickly so that by the time you round the corner and go up the next street you certainly can be counting the same deer multiple times over the three days that this "census" is done. I have been told it is too expensive to tag the deer and too expensive to use birth control on the females. So, in my opinion, you use shoddy methods of counting to submit to the state and use a formula that no one will share with me to determine their margin of error. I'm simply not buying that. If our HOA had full transparency they wouldn't net these animals at night; because if they did it during the day, most would be horrified what they see. If our HOA had full transparency they would not bury the expenses of $100,000 (I was told) in categories other than "Wildlife". I have multiple degrees in Agriculture, Business Management with a dual degree in Accounting. I think it is high time we stopped this horrific slaughter to line to pockets of those being compensated to kill them and to give our HOA a message- show us everything you do with the dues you collect, it is our right to know what our money is being spent on.
