George Mason town hall hosted by President Gregory Washington

George Mason town hall hosted by President Gregory Washington
The Issue
There has been a large issue of student voices feeling unheard – resulting in students feeling more concerned with their safety here on campus.
We believe that it is the job of the president of George Mason to make students feel as welcome and comfortable on campus as much as possible. Therefore, it's the job of President Gregory Washington to promote safety here on campus.
But sadly, Gregory Washington has not acted to help students feel safe at all. George Mason University is now under investigation by the federal government on accusations of antisemitism, showing that President Gregory Washington has now failed his goal.
This places the role of accountability on the students. As a result, the students demand that Gregory Washington host a town hall; this will allow students to express their concerns to George Mason administration while encouraging accountability for our university.
Previous George Mason Presidents have hosted town hall meetings in the past; these events were successful in the past and should be reintroduced to our current student body.
This petition calls for a public town hall hosted by President Gregory Washington, and meet the following conditions:
1. It will take place between January and February
2. Hosted in the Johnson Center on Fairfax Campus
3. Take place during a weekday, between the hours of 10:00AM-4:00PM
4. Will consist of an Opening Statement Prepared by President Gregory Washington
5. A hour-long Q&A session following the Opening Statement.
We further believe that President Gregory Washington should continue to host town halls for the purpose of building stronger community relations between students and administration.
