We are going to close this change.org petition shortly as we have created a new one for the new UK government here.

This campaign seen great success in 2022 with the recognition that crabs, lobsters and prawns could feel pain and, as such, were historically included in the UK Animal Welfare (Sentience) Act, 2022. This was a significant achievement, and we couldn't have done it without you. Thank you all!

However, since then there hasn’t been any further improvements in the protection in law. So, following the recent UK General Election, we are restarting our campaign to protect decapods from pain and suffering, and to get them included in the Animal Welfare Act 2006 (England and Wales).

We are calling on the new UK government to take action now.
