Petition Closed

This facility would be located at the junction of interstate 84 and Westland Rd, near a local sale yard. This facility would be visible to those driving on the Interstate. This proposed facility could potentially process 150 to 200 horses daily. Most of these horses would be shipped to countries in Asia and Europe for human consumption. This facility would be detrimental to the long term image, future development and overall livability of our community. The purpose of this petition is to discourage this proposal before it goes any further. This petition will act as a way for those concerned citizens to oppose this proposal. Also this petition will give a voice to the horses that could potentially be slaughtered if this plant is built and operated near Hermiston.
