The family holiday came to an end . People are back to work or on strike and children are back at school. My home fully paid by me has not be home for near 30 years .
The weather is tough. Covid and other viruses are still causing some havoc in our society.  My focus today is on changes in housing and how they will bring improvement to us. 

The photo in the update comes from a close-up competition. I thought it looked like 2 people being encaged by the landlord but it is the vessel of a carnivorous plant where 2 salamanders are decaying . It is beautiful and disturbing. One is part of the animal life and the other part of the human life. There is a known gap between reality and imagination but our reality can imprint harshly our imagination.  

To help focus on positive changes, I would like to look at the word FAMILY and its meaning for us. I spoke enough of suffering and housing injustice. Even if one cannot forget, we can learn to forgive and when your lifespan has been definitely curtailed there is nothing you can do to change it BUT YOU CAN FOR OTHERS.

To be a family we do not necessarily have to be of the same blood but people living together under the same roof. It is comparable to a life within a community. In a family with a certain number of people living under the same roof everyone has the right to thrive in a similar way. However if someone changes rules for oneself and makes different ones for other people living under the same roof this is quite disturbing and unhealthy. 

Furthermore if you have now 2 roofs to repair in the same house, one that can be neglected because only serving one unimportant individual in the household. That should raise the red flags underlined in the safeguard issues. 

The concept of Family is more than having people under one of your roof. This should comprehend people who jump in headfirst who aren's afraid to make fool of themselves to help you instead of throwing you out of your home and trying to set up accusations about you, they should have the courage to not hide their faces in shame if you fall down because of their accusations but stand up for their lies, recognise their poor and bad actions and redeem themselves . 

When I was a kid, seeing the cowboys and Indians western movies, I always believed the native Indians were the bad ones , until I grew up and read history through good books. 

If your family gets suddenly bigger than you expected and your house gets too crowded, do you tell your family that they have to find a different place and leave ?

Do you tell them that You do not accept them , because they are not similar to you, you never liked them as they look different , have different ideas or want improvement of the house for all and not only one of 2 people ? 

Do you tell your family that they have to find a different place to live because you have to remain the domineering of the game as it has been written in the feudal constitution refusing to change housing centuries of abuse ?

Do we accept the working families and their quality of life issues OR do we abide always only to the well connected mantra ?

NO ! You start recognising that time has changed , that minority has also become entitled to some comfort, perhaps not fully like yours but at least, 

• can enjoy proper repairs,
• not to take away their belongings acquired to entitle them to proper repairs
• admitting the damages your made by what could be considered mistakes related to negligence for the minority, but admitting it and 
• repairing it so well that the dismissal from all the wrong actions over the years could be forgiven one day by the people who had to live with its damaging blunders for 30 years

YES ! When you are a responsible person, You make room, You adapt to changing times, You find creative solutions to keep people together and for each individual keep their well being under the same roofing despite the differences. 

You work for inclusion and not exclusion.  You do not make life so impossible that people have to leave and force them to wish for being deaf or blind while in their home . 

The law is unfortunately strapped by the words it uses to coat its language to give rights or not to people. 

Does it consider the practical experience of 20 years that one member has to live in their home before the first ever ( even if insufficient ) work on a small roof? Roof that only had some light cover on exposed rafters and some small stones over it. Does it consider the long term negative health effects ? 

Will the law understand that the right to repair can be stolen by taking away the share of the freehold of someone who bought it for that purpose and the lease that should have come with it , that will suddenly be denied at the last minute as the victim is asking for repairs of damages and 20 years of disrepairs ? 

Can the written words of the law be flexible to understand and precise enough to safeguard the life of one individual sandwiched between 2 landlord properties with well connected people and for that reason ruling the housing world? They can ignore the repairs needed for one as not needed for them and even more create flat damages by negligence and still rule this does not exist.

They can take away all hope of proper repairs for 30 years to an individual who does not know how to stand up against such malfeasance in an unbalanced fight

Not everyone can have a huge force suddenly standing next to you to stop the invasion of your country or home . And Mr Scrooge is only found in the fairy tales of Christmas. Only the lawmakers working for "people and not politics " can do it by inserting the right wordings in the legislation and placate somewhat the victims of an unlawful situation. 

Can the law go beyond the words of the well connected, notice the deliberate mockery of the situation, distracting wilfully from the real individual housing issues by creating lies, fabricating accusations? 

While the victims have to stand up and deny all these deceptions, they lose their life substance , their energy to fight and stand up for their rights.  This mind's corruption is easy to do for the people in power and needs to be dismissed and focus only on the victim's life and the real issues. 

For more than half a century, people specialised in a specific area in law, who live in a full complete house with all the rights that it includes for them , have been looking at improving the fate of people who live in a "piece' of a house that they cannot repair properly and lose their rights when they stand up requesting it

To understand the pain , you have to go through the same experience , I do not mean it has to be 30 years but at least a while , one year if you can cope with it.

The legislation backed up by the lawmakers will become able to understand that in a house converted into flats and or any house not done in a good or practical way, people need to have the same rights to address repairs. These are disrepairs that only individuals live through until it reaches the deepest core of their life and their good health encounters demise. Why wait until then ?

Another truth is that a residential house cannot be transformed into a business and dismiss people living in their home.

The day I will be able to stand up and talk about my 30 years of housing problems will be a turning point in recognition . It would be a victory for " knowledge over kangaroo courts and understanding over ugliness."

And yes about 30 years ago I rolled my sleeves with these same thoughts, hopefulness  over hatred . Today I am asking our lawmakers to fight for substance over slander with regard to housing rights, " democracy over demagoguery"

The suggested legal texts read last year with my MP team do introduce changes but need finer tunings to prevent the abuse described above .

The new legislation cannot be a piecemeal work, otherwise there will always be loopholes used. There should be no stone unturned. Any forgotten one can become an abuse reaching the quintessence of the life issues and the well being of a family in their home. This is why finding the appropriate and safe rigging of our housing ship is a fundamental need. 

There is yet no red line against blackmail , threats, pressure to leave your home , disrepairs poorly done or not done at all. Only despair and illness remain.  It has to stop happening. 

Thank you for helping me to introduce the modifications needed by sharing with your MPs this request. There is a queue of items to reach the commons and basic ones for prevention never reach the floor. I know I do not know much but more than enough in that particular area to bring true and relevant changes to the housing quality of life and Health for us. 

The 2007 health event reminiscence that I shared for the first time at Christmas made me realise that perhaps I remained alive in those days because this is my purpose and why I did not die then. Seeing courageous people standing to defend their home and so many more around the world denies me the thought of becoming a coward. They face death daily, even though it would be so much easier than facing the tsunami from the well connected.

I do not know if I will ever discover the rainbow after so many storms but it is worth it to hang on for longer.

There will not be any more update until I have something more concrete from the lawmakers to work on as I know it will be of no use unless you support me . I was hoping to have 5000 supporters before I truly start working with them on the subject.I will be contacting them this year again to ask them to go through the first suggestions of changes they received and did not act on yet. But if you hear one day someone who gave her last breath for this project, I hope you will support its modifications as a basic requirement for basic health. 

I never challenged our society even if I always spoke openly. I did even consider , perhaps my housing narrative was wrong ? Was it too much asking for proper good repairs  and a healthy life at home ?  But in 2019, I reviewed my documents and all the facts . Lots of things that I had forgotten came back to my memory and I realised that it was not a nightmare but realities that our society allows without reflecting if it is right or not . And individuals perpetuate it because they saw it and see it today allowed and condoned. This is my paradigm shift. 

What is happening is silent violence and not loud violence and why it can be dismissed so easily but when it is plain to see,  Why is it still accepted ?
