1. I paid for my shared freehold to receive my lease and I have nothing
2. I created a company to manage our small house and the landlord kept the company for his own business and the managers are still around working for the landlord
3. I set up all the above because since 1995 I had disrepairs , in order to have proper repairs that any proud owner would ask for.
4. In 2020 with the law commission proposal I was hoping . In 2021, I start my strike as I do not want to wait 30 years to see those good repairs coming and die after 29 years not having seen them

Do you know your housing rights? What about when you have a shared freehold and leasehold ?
Hunky dory , happy ever after ? You may think you have an equal say in the running of your property but often this is NOT the case .
The reality is that your rights paid and signed for can be taken from you by a tweak enshrined in the legislation that is meant to protect your housing rights . Why and how can this happen?
The “right to manage company” was set up by the legislation to allow shared freeholders to manage their house themselves.
In a small shared freehold group a couple of people can transform the “right to manage company” into a company for their personal business as freeholders.
They then take over the management of the entire property giving you no control whatsoever.
The next step is to reinstate an expensive estate manager to stop you having any say in your property. This could be the same managers dismissed and replaced by the “right to manage company “.
The unanimous vote agreed to protect the minority and avoid abuse can also be abolished.
The newly created business company can snatch not only the shared freehold-part paid in good faith, but you can also lose control of your property in terms of getting the proper repairs carried out and your lease’s length can be held as hostage.
Clearly the law needs to be changed .
As home owners we should have a say in the crucial maintenance of our home.
Our rights should be kept safe.
