Dear Ma’am, 
We are a group of international medical graduates who sat the PLAB 1 exam on February 18th, 2021. It is in our collective plans to sit the PLAB 2 exam that’s to be held in the United Kingdom, and for which seats will be opened this coming March 2021st  as announced by GMC. This creates a predicament of sorts for us because of the fast pace at which seats are booked for this exam. Our PLAB 1 results will be available on April 1st, and surely by that time, all of the seats for the PLAB 2 exam that were announced will be long gone, further delaying our registration process that was already affected by the cancellations and delays of last year. 

After long discussions, we decided to post this petition to your respected office to arrive at a solution that will be beneficial to everyone since we are fully aware of the efforts of the good people at the GMC and how they always try their best to help international medical graduates on their way to obtaining registration in the UK. The following are just a few suggestions that we came up with to address this issue, and we hope that you would take into consideration:

Suggestion 1: Expedite the correction of papers and announcement of PLAB 1 exam results for the February 18th  exam, if possible,  so that our results could be available before releasing PLAB 2 exam seats in March. 

Suggestion 2: Allow us to book seats for the PLAB 2 exam conditionally in March, and  If a candidate had reserved a seat, then it was made apparent that he or she had failed the first exam, their reservation would be canceled.

Suggestion 3: Delay the announcement of new seats for the PLAB 2 exam until April 2nd, 2021 at the latest, so that by then, results for the PLAB 1 February 18th exam would have already been announced. This way, all candidates will have an equal chance at booking the exam. 

Suggestion 4: If all of the above were not possible, at least provide us with another opportunity by making more seats available for us to book in April since all of the seats for the PLAB 2 exam will be gone by then. 

We are fully aware of the difficulties and obstacles that GMC has been facing since the past year and the tremendous efforts that have been put in place to aid us in the process of registration. We are also hopeful that you would kindly help us to find a solution to our problem and continue the wonderful work that your respectable institution is well known for across the world.
