Ok so dental hygienists/therapists have gone long enough without having nursing support. Not only is it a threat to them being alone in a room with a patient, if an incident was to occur, there is no witness. Not to mention completing all the clinical jobs as well as writing accurate notes and then disinfecting the surgery AND sterilising the instruments on top of the most important job of providing the best care for the patient. It is near on impossible. So I call for the standards to be crystal clear and state that it is mandatory for a DCP to have nursing support when treating patients. Please sign of you agree.
