I have been a Dental Nurse for 17 years - and it is something that some may say - I am quite passionate about.

Recently I have seen several posts on Facebook from people who have gone to Beauty salons (or the like) for what they think is a straight forward tooth whitening procedure only to come away looking like they have had botched lip implants!

I am becoming fed up and very, very saddened that ill/poorly trained (even untrained!) individuals feel that they are capable of performing such an invasive treatment such as tooth whitening.

Dental Professionals undergo years of training to perform these types of treatments and even have to keep up and show their competence yearly by completing CPD (Continual Professional Development)

The soft tissues inside mouths are extremely delicate and need to be treated with extreme care. If a drop of the materials used came into contact with the soft tissues they could cause extreme pain to someone and the untrained eye may miss such an error until it is too late.

Time and careful precision needs to be used when undertaking such treatments as well as the correct training.

Please sign and help get this controlled so that only the correct trained professionals get to do such treatments and no-one else gets harmed.
