However, the everyday consumer engine that fuels these businesses is stalling under an exponential rise in the cost of living—which has grown over 108% since 1997, a staggering 3,400x since 1910, and it is only getting worse. When the 99% of Americans who drive market demand are financially strained, the long-term stability of the entire American experiment is at risk.

Other successful nations leverage their core resources to protect their people—whether it is oil-rich regions distributing permanent wealth dividends directly to their citizens, or developed countries providing fully funded healthcare and education. In the United States, our greatest resource is our massive consumer market. It is time we establish an American benefit instead of just watching the 1% live in a completely different universe while everyday citizens live in financial survival mode. This bill does not attack corporate success.

Some might argue that forcing companies to bring prices down is a simpler fix, but arbitrary price controls historically break supply chains, cause shortages, and freeze growth. This project is different. Instead of breaking the free-market system that America is famous for, this is the most efficient, safe way to fix the economy. It leaves the dynamic free market intact so businesses can thrive globally, but it recycles a fraction of their peak surplus directly back into the pockets of the American people who build the products and buy the goods.
