As a member of the Tidewater Wildlife Rescue organization, I have witnessed Canada geese and goslings, particularly in spring, braving Greenbrier Parkway crossings to get to large retention ponds and green spaces on the other side of the street. Some dodge traffic and succeed, but others are killed by passing cars. Geese mate for life, and I was heartbroken at the sight of a mate on the side of the street, obviously distressed over the death of its partner in the median. 

Installing “Geese Crossing” signs along Greenbrier Parkway at the intersections of Eden Way and Volvo Parkway would alert drivers to the likelihood of geese crossing the street in these key areas. These signs can save the lives of geese families and avoid accidents.
