Now I understand that some of the street names of Glasgow city centre are tied to slavery such as “Jamaica Street” “ Buchanan Street” and many more. But I think it is the way you look at it such as how times have changed and how we have changed as people over the years. It is a part of our HISTORY here in Glasgow and if we where to change the names of streets not only will it come with such confusion to us Glaswegians but it will will be a distant memory for us and to the next generation it will be forgotten.

Logistical nightmare, the costs it will occur the tax payer to change everything, including- maps, travel brochures, the street plaques, bus stops, train lines, subway lines, the list goes on and this will cost so much. This money could go towards tackling modern day racism within Glasgow. and the confusion this will cause the older generation who still like to be independent and navigate through town themselves.
