THE 2016 Gawler ANZAC March down Murray Street has been cancelled due to safety concerns associated with closing the street and diverting traffic. In previous years Gawler have held the march and have also closed Murray street for other events, including more recently for an Easter parade. This decision has angered a lot of locals with many saying it's "disrespectful" and are "disgraced with Gawler council." While there is a lot of criticism going around towards the council, RSL and SAPOL for canceling the march, it is still unjustified to cancel such an event whomever came to the decision. It's unaustralian. There are ANZAC day marches being held all around Australia. It is a sacred day and we need to continue to honour it.
