The following text has been copied from the Tehama County Deputy Sheriffs Association Facebook page:

"Cameron Hooker was convicted of kidnapping, torturing and sexually assaulting Colleen Stan in 1985. The crimes against Ms. Stan occurred over a seven-year period. During that time, she was kept in his basement and later in a box under his bed. He was sentenced to serve more than 100 years for those crimes. In 2014 he was eligible for parole and was denied for a period of 15 years. However, Cameron Hooker is possibly being paroled as early as March of 2021. Apparently this is based on Gavin Newson's desire to lower the prison population.
What is most concerning is that he is suspected in the kidnapping and torture of another woman, Marie Spannhake. However, due to fact that her body cannot be located he was never charged or convicted of those crimes. This all happened right here in Tehama County and was memorialized in several documentaries, including the one below. This cannot be allowed to happen, you can write to the State Parole Board and the Governor's Office to express your concerns about his release."

We can not have people like Cameron Hooker released on our streets under any circumstances. The victim of the crime deserves more, much more. She should not have to live in fear because the Governor is worried that this monster might get COVID-19. He needs to stay behind bars for the rest of his life.
