Protect Asian communities against violence/hate crimes.
The Issue
We have seen a significant rise in hate/violent crimes against the Asian communities during this COVID-19 pandemic. Things has only gotten worse as our elderly Asian communities continues being targeted because they are not able to protect themselves
Our Asian communities is fearful with being in the public alone, simply going for a walk, living our daily lives. These incidents are stark reminders that urgent action must be taken to protect our Asian communities from violent and sometimes hate crimes.
As such, we respectfully request the following:
The City, State and United States Justice Department provide sufficient resources to address the rise in violent/hate crimes.
The Executive Branches and respective legislatures continue to take on and pass legislation to protect all communities against hate crimes, including the Asian American community.
