James King is innocent and currently serving 35 to life for inconsistent sexual assault allegations brought upon him by the ulterior motives of a drug addled mother and her 13 year old daughter. 

Ruth Ann Forrest was a drug addict, supporting both her habit and her 13 yr old daughter Jaime with welfare and prostitution while renting a room in a house owned by a man named Doug Dobell. After pawning Dobell's TV while he was in Las Vegas, ex tenant James King caught Forrest trying to sell Dobell's moped. If this got back to Mr Dobell, it would certainly spell eviction for Forrest and her daughter. When Mr Dobell returned, Ruthann's attempt to blame the missing TV on James King failed, so she came forward with her daughter to Dobell with false accusations of sexual assault by James King. Mr Dobell promptly called the police.

- According to Dobell - Forrest was angry that he hadn't given her and Jaime an opportunity to get their story straight before calling the cops.

- According to Jaime - James raped her and ejaculated on a brown carpet in the garage. When the carpet tested negative for semen, Jaime said that her dog ate it. Jaime later said that her mother cut it up, or washed it, and finally said that the carpet was blue. Dobell testified that a blue carpet did not exist in his house at the time of the alleged assault.

- According to Jaime's diary - She was in love with "Eli" who "did stuff" to her. A man named Eli Roman rented a room from Doug Dobell at the time of the alleged assault.

- According to the state's medical expert Dr Valerie Barnes - her examination of Jaime and her subsequent findings were consistent with Jaime's account of sexual assault. Her examination occurred nearly 3 weeks after the alleged event. Any  acute injury would have healed between 72 hours and a week after the alleged assault. The defense presented no rebuttal expert at trial. 

- Since the 1st trial, Dr Barnes' testimony and findings have been called medically absurd.

- James' conviction was overturned, and he refused a plea deal for lewd conduct and immediate release in lieu of being retried.

- According to Jaime's interviews leading up to the 2nd trial - Jaime made additional forced oral copulation allegations against James King which were then rescinded and attributed to Eli Roman.

- Despite the lack of material evidence, Jaime's inconsistent statements and testimony, all other witnesses contradicting Jaime, and absurd medical expert testimony rebutted by the defense, the jury was once again lulled into erring on the side of a child victimized by another man, and James King was again found guilty.

James King has been behind bars since 1997 on the very inconsistent and contradictory word of a, then, 13-year old girl, Jamie, who was in lust over her real rapist. The true motivation for these accusations came from the specter of eviction and what Mr King knew. James continues to defend his innocence and hopes to be freed before his mother Lillian passes away.
