In less than 24 hours, more than 2,600 of you have said “No!” to violent extremism, and your support is working. Just now, Opposition immigration spokesman Shayne Neumann has written to immigration minister David Coleman, calling for Gavin McInnes to be barred from entering the country:

"Given the significant risk Gavin McInnes poses to the Australian community, I am asking you to use your powers under Section 501 of the Migration Act to refuse his access to Australia.

"Gavin McInnes has repeatedly and publicly advocated for violence against women and has pledged to “assassinate” his enemies. Both this individual, and the group he represents, were suspended from Twitter in August for violating the social media platform’s policy prohibiting violent extremist groups.”

This is a big step in the right direction, but it’s not over. We need the immigration minister to listen to the thousands of Australians who care about a fair and just society. We need the immigration minister to say no to violent extremism.

We need the immigration minister to refuse Gavin McInnes access to Australia.

Please, keep sharing this petition with your communities.

Thank you.
