Reject planning permission for the proposed plans for the Marischal Square Development, Application Number 140698 by Muse Developments
The Issue
We want Aberdeen City Council Planning Committee to reject the Marischal Square Development plans by Muse Developments. We want a development more sympathic with the buildings that are around Marischal College and Provost Skene's House; the elevations, form, scale and massing of Marischal College and Upperkirkgate (buildings that tend to punctuate the skyline of Aberdeen), a development which provides a legacy for the future and a clear view of Provost Skene's House from Broad Street.
We are concerned at the overall density of the proposed development by Muse Developments. It is over-powering. The proposed buildings’ designs lack the variety and characteristic of Aberdeen’s existing skyline. The proposed plans do not conform to the Local Development Plan adopted in 2012, Aberdeen City Centre Development Framework and The Bon Accord Quarter Aberdeen Masterplan.
