Hello Friends,
Thank you very much for all your support. It has made such a HUGE difference. Read further to know why.
All 30,000 signatures propelled us forward and gave us an opportunity to meet Gautam Gambhir, our Member of Parliament from East Delhi!
I am very happy to tell you that we met him on Friday (23rd August) afternoon to discuss this campaign. He patiently heard us out and took note of the suggestions given by us regarding the cleaning of Ghazipur landfill.
Gambhir ji has assured positive action to green the landfill. He has already acted on our suggestion and invited IAS officer Mr. Asheesh Singh, the Municipal Commissioner of Indore. Isn't that wonderful!
At this crucial meeting, we also told Mr Gambhir about your support and the comments posted by you all. His team has already taken note of the comments posted by many of you directly to Mr. Gambir's official response. If you would like to convey your thoughts to him on this, please go ahead.
What next for us? We are going to continue campaigning for this cause until Mr. Singh comes to Delhi to share his actionable knowledge on greening landfills with the East Delhi Municipal Corporation.
What next for you? Help us get thousands more signatures to increase the chances of making an impact.
Please share this petition as much as possible with your friends and relatives. Tell them how your signature made an MP commit to action.
We want to take this opportunity to thank several big and small media houses who have done their duty by covering this issue, the damage done to the environment and how it affects us all.
We remain confident and hopeful. Keep supporting us.
It will be our endeavor to keep you informed of further developments.
