We wholeheartedly wish to thank each one of you and extend our gratitude for supporting us on this petition that asks the government to Commit to Clearing Up Ghazipur Landfill #CleanTheMess.
We have exciting news to share. Last week, we met Mr. Gautam Gambhir's team to discuss this campaign. They took note of our petition and suggestion for clearing the Kachre Ka Pahaad, the Ghazipur Landfill. We have reason to be hopeful and expect positive action.
We are also hopeful of meeting Mr. Gambhir in person in the near future. We plan to use the opportunity to present him with a list of people who have signed our petition and shown support for the cause. It would great if we could show him 50,000 signatures. We are a few thousands away from our goal. Please share this petition as widely as possible with your friends, relatives and coworkers on Facebook, Twitter and even WhatsApp. We believe every signature will make a huge difference.
Recently the petition was widely covered by many eminent newspapers. They wrote about the environmental threat that we all are facing due to Ghazipur landfill.
We were also interviewed by a journalist from France who wants to mention about the petition and the issue in his radio show in France.
Another positive development. The central government is also taking the landfill issue seriously. The office of Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India in partnership with East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) has issued a global request for proposals in partnership mode for land recovery at Ghazipur dump site.
These are exciting times for us. We promise to keep you updated regularly regarding the developments connected to this petition. And we need your support at each step of this initiative. Pls share this widely.
Thank you once again
