Stop Gateshead Council from turning Coatsworth Road, Bensham into a ONE WAY SYSTEM

Stop Gateshead Council from turning Coatsworth Road, Bensham into a ONE WAY SYSTEM
The Issue
Gateshead Council has decided to make changes to Coatsworth Road.
Coatsworth Road will be narrowed, making it one-way, while parking bays will be removed, suspension of kerbside parking, removal of loading bays, narrowing of streets and new signage.
Currently the paths and roads along the route are more than wide enough for pedestrians and changing to 1 lane will not help with social distancing at all. This will have an extreme adverse effect on the already struggling local business.
This is going to cause a lot of traffic disruptions all around the Bensham area, with motorists and large buses having to find alternate routes.
No consultation with local business or residents has taken place
This change must be stopped.
