I'm writing this as a parent of a child with additional needs. There is so many reasons parks need gates around them. 

Victoria park new play park is so large and open. There is not a clear view of the park surrounding. The park is also so spread out it not a safe enviorement. 

As this is not secure it makes it easier for children to run off, predictors easy access to video or photograph children or abduct. 

Having multiple children on your own at the park is hard anyway but with multiple exits, you physically do need eye in the back of your head. Gates would make all these risks a lot lower.

It takes seconds and they are out of sight. 

The fact there is so many exits out of the park makes this seriously dangerous. For children. 

If a a gate was put around the play park, parents would be able to know their children are as safe as they can be. You'd notice a person walking in without children to be able to keep an eye on them if things seem suspicious. This also helps parents of  additional needs children keep their children safe when they have no understanding of danger.
