Hi my name is Ellery, I'm 13 and I don't even believe a petition should exist like this but has to. We want to stop teachers and principles in our school from doing what they do and for them to start actually doing things correct regarding transgender kids in our school system and hopefully us collectively will make a dent on the world and other teachers out there well start following. We're getting as many people in the world that's 13 to 17 to sign a petition for specifically our school to stop doing things that mainly trans but alsp lgbtq kids in our school system deal with. The main problem we are facing is kids getting misgendered, or using the wrong names. Also the biggest issue is lgbt kids getting bullied about their gender or sexuality and speaking up but not getting heard. Some kids are not getting punished for doing so. Here is an example of what has happened. "The worst time was probably when the teacher sat there in front of my mum and misgendered me the whole time and when my mum corrected her she said “we can’t do anything about that” or whatever. Or when they called my parents and constantly misgendered me and called me my dead name to call my dad to say I wasn’t dressing out causing me to cry." - An Anonymous Teenager at my school. Once we get enough signatures we will bring this to my principal and she will help fix these issues.
