As the school year approaches, we are concerned about the health of our families as well as the health of the students and families we serve. We, public school teachers of District 102, ask that you not just oppose but actively fight against 2020 Special Session HB59 and all proposed legislation that is similar in nature. This bill strips public school teachers of their right to have recourse if their employer's policies or procedures are poor or enforcement thereof is inadequate to protect their health and well-being. If HB59 passes, we have one less tool to address those concerns.
