Garden Grove High School Walkout to End Gun Violence

We are students, we are victims, we are change.
Government officials who are elected to protect us, fail to do so. Thoughts and prayers are not enough. We need action. The government needs to stop taking money from the NRA and start thinking about our youth. In the U.S. there have been 18 school shootings since January 1, while in the rest of the world, there have been 18 in the last twenty years.
This is not about school security or mental health awareness, this is about parents being afraid to send their kids to school. No teenager should be able to buy a weapon of war. States with tighter gun control laws have fewer gun-related deaths. We need gun control now.
On Friday, April 20th, at 10am, the 19th anniversary of the Columbine shooting, walk out of school, wear orange and protest online and in your communities. Nothing has changed since Columbine, let us start a movement that lets the government know the time for change is now. Bring signs and posters. Our voices will be heard.
