Let me begin by saying the following: I understand that Warhammer Fantasy Battles (WFB) has been a drain on resources due to declining popularity, and I see that something had to be done to assist the company's financial position. I will also refrain from claiming to be an expert on matters of business, because I am not. And finally, I am not here to protest the release of Age Of Sigmar, I find it an interesting and a reasonably innovative angle for Games Workshop to take with the Fantasy setting. So why petition? I have created this because many in the WFB community (including myself) are disappointed that a beloved game system such as Warhammer Fantasy Battles is being dropped entirely, with no foreseeable support in future. As a result I request that WFB be given some official chance to live on, even if it is limited to online purchase or perhaps even a downsized model range so as not to be such a drain on company resources. It is my personal belief that such action would prevent an entire community of gamers, hobbyists, lore-writers and devoted customers from fracturing, the evidence of which is clear even now. Yet even from a business perspective it should be noted that such action would inspire brand loyalty and trust in the consumers that feel that the company that provided them with such a rich and varied hobby experience. I understand the need for change in this modern world but we can't consign what has long been Games Workshop's iconic; unique model range and game system to a fate of being forgotten when there are still many who would carry the banner for this masterpiece of creativity unto the bitter end.
