Stop fleecing fandom, lower prices in MLP game
The Issue
Since the game came out, there have been swarms of complaints about gameloft's My Little Pony game for Android, Iphone, Ipad and other portable devices. This is particularly due to the greed of the company gameloft. In the game My Little Pony, you must rebuild Ponyville and defeat Nightmare Moon. Easy right? Wrong! You're gonna have to spend your hard-earned cash if you want to beat this one, and you're gonna have to deal with not 1, not, 2, but 3 different currencies, in which the second is the most commonly used. The first is bits, which are easily obtained through income from shops you build and also leveling up. The second is gems which are the main items that are used while shopping in the store. They are rare and the only way to earn them, is to level up (beyond 50), get daily bonuses (Days 4 and 5), find Derpy (extremely rare), or win them in the balloon pop game (which is rigged as well). The final currency is heart gems, which can be obtained through accepting friend requests, or gifts. To make it worse, if you don't play the game every day, rocks and parasprites will appear and it will cost you your hard-earned bits to get rid of the rocks. In terms of the parasprites, it will cost you element shards. To make it a double-whammy, the parasprites that appear are magic parasprites. To make it a triple-whammy, magic shards are the rarest of all shards. The only way to win them is play the 30-heart gem balloon pop game. To push things even futher, there's another balloon pop game that costs 25 gems that allows one to win a pony. But greed kicks in again as the ponies have only a 1% chance of appearing.
In addition, most of the ponies you need for quests cost gems, except those in the beginning. For some, Rarity and Rainbow Dash cost a whooping 500 gems! This is a pure example of pure greed and fleecing. Parents have even brought the app for their kids and their kids are very upset because they cannot advance in the game without asking their parents to buy gems for them.
Gameloft owes a serious apology to EVERYONE. We mustn't let their greed get the hold of the brony community.
To quote an exerpt of an open letter from a fellow brony:
"In the true spirit of the show on which it is based, this game should be designed so that little kids can enjoy it as well as bronies. Sadly, your game, which costs $100+ in real world cash to complete is just a horrifically greedy bits grab. Unless you update the game with more ways to get gems, cut back on parasprites and rock growth, and lower the cost of the ponies required for the story, this is an insult to fans of the series."
*Quotes Princess Celestia* Gameloft, you have A LOT to think about.
