Set legal standards for microtransactions
The Issue
Everyone knows about microtransactions. If you don't, they are basicly paying money in game for items in games. In some games they make sense, like in a free to play game, but in games that cost money? They do not belong. I am here to start a petition to ask the goverment or game devlopers to set legal standards for microtransactions. Here is my idea for them:
1. Microtransactions must not give an advantage to a player or unlock anything that would change the gameplay in any way, if the game includes multiplayer.
2. Microtransactions must be by choice and not forced upon the consumer.
3. Microtransactions must not slow down or remove parts of gameplay in the slightest.
4. Microtransactions can not exceed the price of the game it self. This would be the price the game costs on release day.
5. Microtransactions must be worth what the consumer is paying for. If more then 1000 of the consumers think it is over priced then the price must be changed.
6. Because of EA's past, EA is banned from putting microtransactions in any game they make after this law/rule is passed.
These rules would apply to any microtransions in any game.
Exceptions the these rules would be:
Free to play games
Rule 6 does not need to happen, but I would like it.
If you are paying for a cosmetic item, rule 1 does not apply.
I hope you people sign my petition and I am hoping for a better gaming world!
