There was a bungalow built right next to the 'Quiet Man' cottage in the 1950s – after the cast and crew had long departed. That bungalow is now totally derelict – there is little of it left at all. This bungalow makes NO contribution to the cultural heritage value of the Quiet Man cottage site and therefore does NOT have to stay in place as part of any addition of the Quiet Man cottage to Galway County Council's Record of Protected Structures.
