Gio was alone in his dorm room just before midnight, March 28, 2014. He was on his computer emailing his RA for help. He didn't feel safe in his room and had spent the day going to DPS and student housing, supervisor Adrienne Morgan, to ask for a "safe" room. No one helped him. His requests were denied.

In eyewitness testimony under oath from an RA on duty in Gio's dorm. Without notice, DPS officer BAUER ran past her first floor desk. Taken by surprise, she followed quickly behind. BAUER - unprovoked, Officer Bauer burst into Gio's room unannounced, within seconds, handcuffed Gio with his hands behind his back, grabbed Gio by the neck and slammed him into a wall in the hallway - face first. Despite Gio's non-resistance, additional DPS officers arrived and again took Gio to the ground - face first. Gio would be left there, on the ground with hands cuffed behind his back for one hour. "Gio was a lamb," Manganelli said. "He'd escort spiders out the front door." DPS exasperated Gio's mental fragility into a full-blown crisis, causing him profound humiliation. The last thing Gio's RA remembers seeing was a: "Stoic" Gio, on his stomach. A SINGLE TEAR rolling down his CHEEK." Bauer's testimony is significantly different but not supported by any dispatch records, witnesses or corroborating testimony.  Security camera footage of Gio's actions that day (and the days following), throughout campus was preserved - EXCEPT - for the footage from his dormitory. The security camera footage from Gio's dormitory would have corroborated witness testimony - but it was surreptitiously erased. How did Gio's cry for help lead to his arrest?
