"The Gio Initiative" pauses to honor "Pops"

Dear Friends and Family:

“The Gio Initiative” and Gio’s story is woven into the fabric of our documentary film currently in production: We Were Here. Yesterday, we lost a grieving father who is chronicled in the film: “Pops.”  Pops is from a mountain village in Northern Greece, Flampouro, Florina. For more than seventy years Pops spoke to no one about the loss of his son. Pops is from a culture and an era where men don’t grieve. In We Were Here, he opens up about his grief for the first time in his life. Today, we honor him.
