Please call Governor Scott (850-488-7146) right away and ask him to veto the GRU governance bill (HB 759). Let him know that you would be directly affected by this legislation and that the bill is just as flawed this year as it was when he vetoed it last year. Despite hearing opposition from hundreds of local residents and elected officials, Tallahassee politicians have struck another blow against local governance. Keith Perry and Chuck Clemons are forcing a community-wide referendum in next year's ballot on their deeply flawed and unaccountable GRU Governance plan. Governor Scott vetoed this bill last year and he's our last chance at stopping it again this year. Please call him right away and let him know that you oppose this assault on our community's right to home rule.
