On Tuesday, March 9th, 2021, my mother and dear friend of many in the Gainesville community, Marilyn Wall, Hippodrome Co-Founder and Resident Costume Designer, passed away.  She had been suffering from acute Parkinson's for the last several years.  You can read more about her life here in the Gainesville Sun.

Greg Hausch (Fellow Hippodrome Co-Founder) is petitioning the Gainesville City Commission to consider naming S.E. 2nd Place between Main Street and S.E. 3rd Street -- the road in front of the Hippodrome -- Marilyn Wall Way in honor of her contributions to the Gainesville arts community. She had an impact on countless patrons and actors, whether they saw her work onstage in a production or worked directly with her as an artist.

We're asking for any Gainesville city residents to sign our petition to showcase support for the potential street renaming and would appreciate your signature, or anyone in your network in the city of Gainesville who's ever experienced a play at the Hippodrome and been touched by my Mom's work.
