Dear Gabriela Cowperthwaite,

We are very thankful for your documentary Blackfish, which has brought about worldwide attention to the cruel treatment and conditions of orcas in captivity.  Thanks to it, millions of people have joined the fight to save them.  Plus, California Assemblymember Richard Bloom has re-introduced his Orca Protection and Safety Act after SeaWorld announced to end orca breeding and phase out their orca shows (http://asmdc.org/members/a50/news-room/press-releases/california-legislator-introduces-landmark-orca-protection-bill).

We are petitioning you to create another documentary to expose all the dog and cat meat-eating countries in the world (i.e. China, South Korea, Vietnam, Togo, Ghana, etc.).  They claim “tradition” in order to viciously torture them (i.e. skin alive, boil alive, torch alive, etc.), despite many being stolen, beloved pets.  We live in the 21st century, tradition and costumes should NOT be allowed anymore as scapegoats by ANY COUNTRY to sadistically torture and kill ANY LIVING BEING, especially “sentient beings.”  Throughout the year, millions of dogs and cats suffer this horrible fate on a daily basis, and several thousand are killed in even shorter periods of time during “festivals.” It has truly become an animal holocaust, and we want to know what leather/fur products sold worldwide use dog and cat skin/fur.

Being fair, we would also like for you to expose cruelty in farms around the world.  Animals used for consumption should live “happy” lives and as humanely as possible killed.  Furthermore, there isn’t any need to consume any babies or young animals of any species.  Grinding chicks ALIVE should never again be allowed in our “civilized” world.

This documentary will promote the adoption of “sentient being” laws to better protect animals.  It will also encourage millions of people who have not heard about these issues to help fight for these animals.  Their support could help the efforts of Marc Ching with The Animal Hope & Wellness Foundation and Dr. Peter Li with the Humane Society International.  Their plans include the training of animal negotiators and rescuers and replacing slaughterhouses with animal friendly businesses.  They are managing to solve the root of the problem (MONEY), in a respectful manner towards the locals of these countries.
