Repay Players for Portal 2 Scam
The Issue
The "Robot Enrichment" tab in Portal 2 allows players to pay up to get skins, gestures, hats and such things to be used in the co-op mode.
However, the Portal 2 Co-op has, since a small time after launch, been abandoned completely by Valve. Most of the functionality remaining is bugfilled and sometimes entierly broken, and this includes the Robot Enrichment store.
Scam? Yeah. Players are still able to buy every item in the store (still at an exclusive above 50% sale!) but alas, the items will never show up in co-op. Even if the people who bought store items in the first place are an minority, I'd still call it a scam based on this sole factor:
Money goes in, nothing comes out.
I myself, bought the entire store bundle at alittle under 7 euros, which is still substantial considering that what I bought is no longer accessable, and probably never will be in a long time. (And also because Valve's economical $=£=€ policy will always be questionable).
Counting in everyone who's ever bought anything in the store, and anyone who's able to be fooled - because the store is still open.
Anyone new to the Portal 2 co-op are able to access the store and be successfully scammed. By Valve.
Alot of complaints and bug reports has been filed to Valve about this, but I doubt there's even a Portal 2 section left - even if the co-op servers are still (almost) functional. There has yet to be no fix, no repaying, Nothing. I would like to think that me and the others, who have already complained about their lack of Portal 2 updates and patches, would agree that it's a thing worth noting and adressing. Perhaps in an update that'd patch the rest of the problems?
Is it gamebraking? No. Is it a thing that'd be fun if it worked properly? Yes.
Anyone out there who also wants to get valve's attention to fix this, or atleast hopefully get their money back?
TL;DR: Valve has scammed and are still scamming Portal 2 players through the co-op store, as the bought items and the system around it is broken and it hasn't been adressed in years. The scam argument wouldn't be justifiable if the co-op store wasn't still accessable.
