Airsoft manufacturers to produce replicas of the Korean K series rifles

The Issue

At the time of the creation of this petition, there is a severe lack of South Korean Daewoo K series weapons (K1, K2, K7) available in quality airsoft replica form.

Currently there are only a handful of manufacturers producing the K-series, but most of these are only readily available in Korea, and even the highest quality replica available (made in Korea by Toystar) still falls far short of the standards demanded by the modern airsoft skirmish and Milsim environment.

The real-life K series is well recognized, especially in United States, having been exported to the US civilian market since their creation in the 1980s and even to this day, civilian models are available to the general public. The weapons have recently been featured in media and video games, such as Rainbow Six: Siege, Girls' Frontline and COD: Ghosts.

Although Toystar continues to manufacture their K series weapons, they are almost never retailed internationally. Additionally, they do not come with metal receivers (the small number of metal receivers that were manufactured were made of poor quality pot-metal that cracks easily, and just like the guns themselves, are extremely overpriced). This has lead to insane price inflation, seeing American buyers willing to pay over $700 for a springer, with the hopes of successfully converting it into an AEG (which can easily add another several hundred dollars to the total cost).

We would ideally like to see the latest iteration of the K series weapons, the K2C1 assault rifle produced; a sleek modern rifle, equipped with picatinny rails, folding and collapsible AR-15 style stock and a vertical foregrip.

However, we would still like to see the other classic variations of the K2 rifle, the K1A carbine and the K7 sub-machine gun (used by the famous Korean 707th commandos).

This petition was started by a group of East-Asia focused Airsoft and MilSim enthusiasts who would like to see more high quality and readily available options for people who are interested in these iconic, yet severely underrepresented guns.
