We, the undersigned G.C.E. Advanced Level candidates, parents, and educators of Sri Lanka, formally submit this counter-petition to declare that the active attempts to postpone the scheduled August 10, 2026 examination do not represent the readiness, intent, or long-term welfare of the student majority.

While we acknowledge the challenges present in any academic year, postponing the examinations at this late stage will cause severe, irreversible prejudice to the A-Level candidates. It unnecessarily extends academic anxiety and disrupts the national university admission timeline, penalizing the vast majority of candidates who have prepared consistently to sit for their exams on August 10th.

We call on the Ministry of Education and the Department of Examinations to maintain the scheduled August 10, 2026 timeline to ensure academic stability and fairness for the student majority.
