Why this petition matters

Started by Solomon Alvarez
- We, the parents, students, citizens of Tarrant County and district of FWISD, are demanding that the Theatre Department and teacher Ms Angela Stidham be reinstated by FWISD to Amon-Carter Riverside High School for the upcoming school year 2021-2022 and beyond. The Theatre department is a vital part of many student's lives during their high school career. Not only that, but to lose the Black box theatre that was built in 2015 & named after CRHS grad Johnny Simons & inaugurated by the Mayor would be a huge loss of all the hard work that has been put in to our CRHS Theatre Program.
- Theatre gives confidence, a group unity, encourages uniqueness and Ms Stidham is one of the best drama/ directors/ teachers to bring out each one's talents and gifts. Not only that, but this specific theatre program has helped CRHS and the student's that participated to win awards through hard work and Ms Stidham's guidance. Awards and accomplishments such as: advancing to Bi-District UIL twice (2019 and 2020), won best crew two years in a row at UIL (2019 and 2020), best actor UIL(2019), best actress UIL Bi-District(2019), and Prose and Poetry advancing to regional(2019: 5/6 of the team advanced this year). Again, this specific theatre program has opened up doors to many of its invested students who participated in it and we truly feel it to be a great loss for it to be taken away.
Please sign this petition if you agree that Theatre is important to so many children at CRHS. Thank you.
