Please stop your sponsorship of the Dec 12, 2015 Crockett County FFA Coon Hunt in Crockett County ,  Tn.  We as concerned citizens, animal lovers, and parents intrust our children to the FFA to learn about farming, true conservation and to be good stewards of our earth, not hunters.  The Crockett County Coon Hunt encourages children and their families (team) to  "kill as many raccoons as possible, for prizes and fun."  Not only is this not a fun family activity, it is cruel and inhumane to the raccoons, and does not teach children to be loving and compassionate.  Children traipsing through the woods at midnight  with loaded weapons is not only unsafe, but foolish, as many children are killed each year while hunting , and by accidental shootings.  FFA we as  citizens, animal lovers,  and concerned parents implore you to stop the hunt, and to withdraw your sponsorship of this dangerous, cruel, inhumane,  and unnecessary activity.
