On May 18, 2020, Furman University announced that they were removing both Furman Baseball and Furman Men’s Lacrosse athletic programs. The decision was based on the financial fall-out brought on largely by the Covid-19 crisis. 
Coaches, players, and scholarship athletes planning to attend Furman were all blindsided by this devastating news. They have worked many years toward their dedicated sport.
