Campaign Update
Thank you all so much for your continued support — it genuinely means the world. Please keep sharing the petition far and wide; every signature strengthens our collective voice.

Following the latest Leeds Health Scrutiny Board meeting, it’s now clearer than ever that the core issue is underfunding. The Leeds Endometriosis Centre is carrying a regional caseload, taking patients from across Yorkshire and surrounding areas, delivering the only joint thoracic–pelvic endometriosis surgery in the UK, and managing a 70% increase in referrals — yet it is still funded as if it were a standard local service. Leeds simply does not have the remaining budget to meet this level of demand.

Because of this, our campaign now needs to pivot: the next step is putting pressure on NHS England commissioners to recognise Leeds as a specially commissioned centre, unlocking the additional funding it urgently needs.

We will shortly be providing a draft email you can send to your MP, asking them to contact commissioners directly. This will have the greatest impact, and I’ll share the link via an update as soon as it’s ready.

I’ve also submitted a new FOI request to LTHT to obtain updated figures, and I’m grateful to Andrew Scopes and the Leeds Scrutiny Board for continuing to support this matter. They will be picking up the issues that can be addressed at their level while we escalate the funding question nationally.

I have attached the letter that Councillor Andrew Scopes has written to Yvette Cooper asking for support to fund the centre as a specially commissioned service.
