One year ago on 9/11, when I arrived to see Mike, little did I know, he would be dead the next day due to blunt force trauma to the head. He was not himself that day. He struggled to return a kiss to me. I remember like it was yesterday. I joked with him using the words he always said to me. "Stop being so cheap." What I would give to hear him say that again! I struggle to understand how that happened when he was a quadriplegic. Mike is a two-issue sad story. Even though he was afflicted with the ravages of the #Powassan virus, he suffered in silence by the brutal abuse in three different nursing homes. This could happen to each and every one of us or one of our loved ones. Hopefully, his sacrifice could change the future! We need to begin at step one. We need to educate others and eradicate tick-borne illnesses. Testing and tracking are the first steps in identifying where ticks are growing in numbers! Thank you to all who signed the petition. Now I ask if you could please take the time to share this petition with others. Whether it is via social media, email or a phone call. Thank you again and please have a blessed day!
