Three women and 5 children murdered by violent partners since January 1, 2022.

2014 saw the loss of the network of specialist domestic violence refuges all over NSW-replaced by poorly funded charitable shelters. 80 out of 100 refuges handed over in the main to large faith based organisations to run as homeless shelters.

Women and children at risk of violence and all too often death, must know there is a safe place to go 24 x7-always accessible -now it`s mostly business hours only.

Keeping women and children safe is a reflection of a healthy community-Governments which broke the system could fix this tomorrow if they wanted to.

If we get specialist refuges restored we will have safer communities, fewer horrible murders of women and children and reduced trauma.Traumatised children cannot learn,traumatised mothers cannot function.It has to stop.
