Fund Emergency Eviction Help for Atlanta Families Now
The Issue
I had to come on here and say this because it is bothering me for real. In Atlanta, I’m seeing people lose their homes, children go without food, and families end up in impossible situations just trying to survive. Me and my sister started putting together care bags because I could not just sit and watch this and do nothing while people in our own community are sleeping in cars and trying to make it to the next day.
And let me be clear: this is not because people are lazy. Jobs don’t pay enough, the economy is hurting people, and too many families are one emergency away from losing everything. When I said there have been over 140,000 evictions filed in Atlanta Georgia, I said that because this crisis is too big to keep treating like it is normal. We cannot keep relying on neighbors to patch up a system that is failing single mothers, children, and families in transition.
That is why I am calling on Atlanta city leaders to fund real emergency eviction help for families right now. We need rental assistance, help with overdue balances, and support that keeps people housed before they end up living out of their cars. Families who are trying to get back on their feet should be able to access basic resources quickly and with dignity, especially single mothers and children who are already carrying so much.
I am still going to help how I can, and I know our community will too, but care bags are not a substitute for action. We need Atlanta to respond to this crisis like the emergency it is. If you believe nobody should feel forgotten and families deserve better than this, please sign this petition and help us demand real support now.
