The Issue

Growing up in Grandview, Missouri, summer always meant one thing – family outings to the local pool. However, our community aquatic center, now over 30 years old, is a shadow of its former self. The pool's cracked tiles, malfunctioning showers, and outdated facilities no longer provide a safe or enjoyable experience for our families. As a parent, I'm deeply concerned about the lack of recreational opportunities for our children and the shrinking communal space for families and friends to connect.
If you live in Grandview , are planning to move here, grew up a swimmer or even have children I really want our city to bring family establishments back to its community. Grandview we don’t have a movie theater, skating rink, bowling alley or any family fun centers. I really want to get the city to see the community would love to have indoor outdoor aquatic center with more than just a splash pad for the littles 5 and under.

Investing in a new public aquatic center is not just about restoring a recreational facility, it's about revitalizing our community. A state-of-the-art aquatic center would serve as a vibrant hub for families in Grandview, MO, offering a safe, clean, and modern space where people of all ages can gather for fun, exercise, and socialization. Imagine a facility with splash pads, modern locker rooms, a lazy river, kiddie pools, and a heated swimming pool that can be used year-round. It would not only enhance our quality of life but also attract visitors, stimulating local economic growth.

Statistics indicate that communities with robust public recreational facilities see up to a 20% increase in local business revenue. Moreover, active engagement in recreational activities has been shown to improve mental and physical health outcomes for individuals of all ages, reducing local healthcare costs.

I'm calling upon the City Council and all local stakeholders to prioritize funding and construction for a modern public aquatic center in Grandview. I believe this project can be achieved through a combination of public funding, local partnerships, and grant opportunities designated for community enhancement projects.

Please join me in urging our city leaders to take action now for the betterment of our community. Sign this petition to show your support for building a new hub of community connection and recreation in Grandview, Missouri.
