The Issue

Many families struggle to pay for the transport for the children upon them heading to 6th form or college, which is still mandatory education. On average it's about £600 a year per child, and those just above that £45,000 gross household income travel support rate struggle to fund their children. Those with more then one child in higher education could have to deal with fees up to £1200! Not including any food, tutor support, extra lessons, more expensive fees with trains. It's unfair for further education having to be mandatory and there to be no help with funding children to continue. It encourages families to not continue, kids to drop out, and overall is an expense many parents should be without.
