I, like many others, live in Frederick, where day after day, we watch our family time diminish due to the relentless traffic on I-270 or the sloth-like pace of the infrequent MARC trains. We are left to ask: why must we, Frederick families, choose between an affordable home and a reasonable commute? A solution to this dilemma is clear: the Metro Express (RedX Line) could effectively cut travel time in half, allowing us to reclaim our family time.

The question now is - why aren't Maryland and WMATA investing in a feasibility study for a high-speed Metro Express from Frederick to Washington, DC? The answer lies in the hands of the decision-makers who hold the keys to our families’ futures. Yet we believe that swift, affordable, and reliable transportation is not a luxury, but a necessity. Environmental benefits aside, enhanced public transit has proven to stimulate local economies and promote inclusive communities. For instance, according to the American Public Transportation Association, every $1 invested in public transit generates $4 in economic returns.

We need you to help convince Maryland and WMATA to fund a feasibility study that could see the dream of a high-speed Metro Express become a reality.
