Funcom Games’ classic adventure game, the Longest Journey, was finally released for Apple iOS devices (iPhone, iPad), however, an Apple iOS update (11) rendered the game unplayable. When trying to launch the game under iOS 11, a message appears saying that the developer needs to update the app to be compatible with iOS 11. 

You wont be able to find the game on the App Store if you’re using iOS 11. 

This is a great game and Funcom did a lot of work to release it on iOS devices, only for it to be rendered unplayable by a system update. It would seem that Funcom might as well update their software to make it playable again, especially considering that some people were in the middle of the game when they updated to iOS 11 and can’t confinue playing, Funcom is losing revenue by working on a game release and allowing it to become unplayable because of lack of software updates, and that some bought the game and can’t play what they paid for. Hopefully this update and future system updates won’t take much effort and Funcom can ensure that their games remain playable for at least a reasonable amount of time after their releases.

We would like to see Funcom Games update the Longest Journey and keep it updated so this masterpiece of golden age gaming can be enjoyed by longtime fans and newcomers for a long time to come.
